Nagog Hill conservation area near Lake Nagog offers an easy 1.7-mile-long trail through wooded lands. It's easy enough for kids to do. Bird watchers and others who enjoy glimpses of an occasional deer often choose this trail. Spring Hill is nearby and offers a slightly rougher terrain and a longer trail. The trails here also go through wooded territory. Picnicking and overnight camping in those areas are prohibited, but Camp Acton permits both activities. The seven campsites that the community still maintains the Boy Scouts once used are fairly level and in good condition. 

The Nathaniel Allen Recreation Area (NARA)'s amphitheater is the site of two upcoming events this fall. The first is a Tribute to Billy Joel called A River of Dreams. Tickets for the show on Friday, August 23rd at 8 PM are on sale on the Actonrec website. The second event is the Monster Bash for kids. Expect treats, games, and prizes. Cost is $5/person at the door on Friday, October 18th, between 6 and 8 PM.

ServPro came to my condo to clean up my kitchen and dining room after a small and contained fire in my oven. There was some fallout from the fire extinguisher chemicals and some smoke. They were here for about 3 days and did a great job!! They were friendly, polite, hard-working and thorough! There was mainly 2 guys here and at one point four guys (Matt, Damon, Andrew and Mason). The project manager was Josh. They all did a great job and I'm very pleased with their work. A special shout-out to Matt for being the lead guy on the clean-up crew and walking me through everything that was happening and making sure I understood and addressing any concerns that I had.
