Spotsylvania, known as the “Crossroads of the Civil War,” four major Civil War battles were fought on Spotsylvania soil including one of the bloodiest of the wars, the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse, in May 1864. You can visit many battlefields in Spotsylvania and they have signs to educate you as to what to place at each battlefield.  You will even still see fences left as they were from the civil war and you will see cannons from that day, too.  The population was 5,610 as of the 2020 census. It lies 10 miles southwest of Fredericksburg and approximately 60 miles south of Washington D.C and about 50 miles north of Richmond, the state capital. Kalahari Resort is currently under construction and is Virginia's largest indoor waterpark, located just east of the community.  Bring the family out to Loriella Park located at 10910 Leavells Road, Route 639, features 18 Hole Disc Golf, 2.9 mile walking trails, 3 lighted multi-purpose fields, 4 lighted tennis courts, 3 restrooms, multi-purpose basketball court, playground with swings, 2 covered shelters (available to rent), outdoor swimming pool and outside exercise equipment.  Loriella Park is a district park that has 208 acres of land that is always hopping with Spotsylvania County Parks and Recreation teams on every field. Shopping in Spotsylvania is plentyful with the Spotsylvania Towne Centre which has department stores and right across the street we have Central Park with a lot more shopping and restaurants. Spotslyvania County schools are well respected and families love the suburban feel of this town.  Should residents in the Spotsylvania community have a sewer back up in their home or a toilet overflow, SERVPRO of Dale City / Woodbridge / Lorton / Fredericksburg

Kerrick and his team came to the rescue recently when we had a overflow of water in our laundry room that extended into our family room. They arrived after their typical work hours in the evening to pull up the carpet in the affected areas, set up the fans, dehumidifiers, and checked the crawl space by the laundry room for any evidence of water. Kerrick took pictures of all of the areas affected by the flooding.He answered all of our questions. The next day Kerrick returned to check on the status of the mitigation. He had tools to check for moisture in the drywall. Kerrick was very responsive to our concerns and arrived with his team promptly on the third day of treatment to check for any moisture, collect equipment, and move the furniture and carpet back into place. I would highly recommend Kerrick for his outstanding service.
