Creedmoor Texas, near Austin is a small town, the city has a total area of 2.1 square miles. In the 1850s the site had general stores, a barbershop a grocery, a drugstore, a blacksmith shop, and an ice cream parlor. In 1880 the name of the community was established and appeared on the post office. The small town did grow, from twenty residents in 1896 to 150 by 1915. The population in 2000 was 211, with three businesses. Two of the Creedmoor schools were destroyed by weather events. In 2004, a new school building was erected east of Creedmoor and the old school building was demolished. There is a wide variety of dining options around Creedmoor. While there are several events in Creedmoor throughout the year, the annual City of Creedmoor Fourth of July Festival is one of the most popular. A third more people attend the event than actually live in the town.
