History

Primm Springs takes its name from John T. Primm, one of the area's earliest landowners. During the 1800s, the community became famous for its mineral springs, which attracted visitors from across the South who believed the waters had healing properties. The historic resort grew into one of Tennessee's premier summer destinations, featuring hotels, cottages, dance halls, and recreational facilities. Today, the Primm Springs Historic District preserves much of this rich heritage.
