Water Damage and Fire Damage Effects on Electronics in New Durham Homes

New Durham, NH, blends history and a tranquil rural atmosphere. One of its most significant historical aspects is that it is the birthplace of the Free Will Baptist denomination, established in 1870 by Reverend Benjamin Randall. Other prominent people from the area include Alfred M. Jones, a successful politician and businessman and Colonel Thomas Tash, a well-known pioneer. Apart from its people, New Durham is known for attractions like the Old Meetinghouse, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Hiking areas include Birch Ridge Community Forest and Ellis R. Hatch Jr. Wildlife Management Area.

You can know New Durham, NH, even better by attending local events and festivals. Local sports events like Curry Colonels vs. New Hampshire Wildcats on November 6, 2025, and UConn Huskies vs. New Hampshire Wildcats on November 21, 2025, provide an electrifying atmosphere.  If you love dancing, the Nut/Cracked show on November 29, 2025, is a wild twist on a holiday classic.  You can also find support through groups like the December Perinatal Loss Support Group on December 4, 2025, where participants create remembrance ornaments.

Beyond Short Circuits After Water Damage

Electronics, such as televisions, exposed to water can short-circuit and stop functioning immediately. However, other, more insidious problems can develop when the gadget is exposed to a leak or is stored in a damp environment. Gradual corrosion affecting metal contacts, solder joints and conductive pathways falls under this category. SERVPRO® can provide a reprieve by placing a dehumidifier near your items or regulating the room temperature. However, we recommend professional inspection.

Signs of a hidden problem

  • Intermittent functionality
  • Fogging on screens
  • Distorted audio or video

Fire Damage Is More Than Melting Components

Fire devastates electronics and appliances by burning and melting their components. Silent and often deceptive damage can happen from soot and smoke residues. Smoke is particularly insidious because it consists of complex aerosols of acidic compounds that eat away at metal contacts and circuit traces. Soot, on the other hand, is conductive, thus creating unintended electrical pathways on circuit boards. SERVPRO technicians can help you identify vulnerable devices and address issues, preventing premature device failures.

Call SERVPRO to help save your electronics from water and fire damage issues.

Harrine and Kyndra where so nice, they did a great job! ( There were at a clients home) And if * could recommend them personally I would!

Lisa-Anne Allen

The cleaning crew of Jessica and Kyndra was outstanding. They were professional, very pleasant, hard-working, and they did a great job.

Jeanne Picard

We had a leak for days so we had a lot of damage. James’ crew came on a late Friday afternoon of a long weekend and they got all the wet stuff out and they started the blowers. Jerome and Elijah and Paul and Keith and last but not least Dylan were awesome! I highly recommend ServPro and this crew. Dave L

David LaLiberte

The supervisor Carl did an excellent job of monitoring both his staff and the equipment. Pation, Keith, and Elijah worked tirelessly and carefully to complete their assignments. Any company would benefit from workers like these 3 people. Friendly, efficient and effective is a great combination that yields exceptional results.

Joe Lukeman

Rory and the team at Servpro stepped in quickly to help us. Outstanding communication and very comforting to know we had expertise available at every step of the way.

Joe McEachern

We recently experienced a leak which led to major demolition. Servpro arrived early every day for a week and totally dried the premises and stripped ceilings, walls and flooring. Each and every Servpro employee was totally professional while keeping us informed every step of the way. Very friendly as well. Hopefully we will never have another leak, however, Servpro would definitely get the call. We would like to send a huge thank you to Carl Campbell as project manager and Vidal, Rey and Keith for their exceptional work. If you ever experience a leak, Servpro is your go to.

Today we discovered a leak [which had about 4 inches of water in our bunkhouse]. The ceiling was puckered in places and looked like it was going to fall down. Harine and Vidal came to our rescue! Not only were Harine and Vidal patient with all of our questions, they were spot on in getting the room looking clean. Can not say enough about these two. Absolutely wonderful….professional, great work and friendly.

Fred Leathers

The ladies that were cleaning our persoal belongings were amazing! They did amazing work and were so wonderful to talk with. Harrina and Pation made me feel very comfortable with the whole process and helped me through this stressful process. They met my dog and he loved them. He hung out with them when they were in the upstairs of our house. I can't thank them enough!

We had sewer backup this weekend, which was a real problem because my husband has a broken leg and is trapped on that floor because he can't do stairs. It was a mess! Jerome and Craig were super! They came, were very personable and extremely helpful. They did a great job. The power washer on their truck broke and instead of leaving us high and dry, they cleaned the bathroom by hand and did a great job. Also, were very thoughtful where they placed the equipment for drying, sanitizing, odor so my husband could get around. Great representatives of Servpro. I would use them again and recommend them.
