Debris containing odor-causing residues will continue to give off odors. That’s why we deal with the source of the odor first.
Clean Residues From Surfaces
After the source of the odor is removed, it’s important to thoroughly clean surfaces to deodorize them effectively. If not properly cleaned, tiny particles of the odor-causing residues will continue to smell.
Recreate the Conditions That Caused Odor Penetration
We apply deodorizer in a method similar to how the odor-causing substances originally penetrated a surface. If smoke created the smell, for instance, deodorizing smoke or fog might be most effective.

After our basement flooded with raw sewage, we were overwhelmed and had no idea where to start. From the moment we called, Servpro was absolutely incredible. Even though it was late at night, they arrived within an hour to inspect the damage and had a crew there shortly afterward working through the night to begin the cleanup. They removed all of the sewage and standing water, disposed of everything that couldn’t be salvaged, thoroughly cleaned and sanitized our basement floors, cleaned and disinfected the affected utilities, and made sure everything was left as clean and sanitary as possible before finishing. Their communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. They kept us informed every step of the way, answered all of our questions, took extensive photos to document the damage and restoration process, and worked directly with our insurance adjuster to help make the claims process as smooth and stress-free as possible. We are so pleased with the efficient service we received! We had water damage in our basement resulting from a sump pump failure. Within hours of my initial phone call (which was not only on a Sunday, but also on a holiday!) the Servpro crew was at our house beginning the remediation process. Michael was friendly and thorough.
